TIBET: Tsering Tso, a Tibetan human rights advocate and professional tour guide, has been put under house arrest at her home in Trika. She faces accusations of forging an identity card and inciting “social unrest.” According to sources, officials have placed strict limits on her movement and other basic rights. Her lawyer, Liang Xiaojun, who has previously defended Tibetan language rights activist Tashi Wangchuk, must reportedly present her case at the Trika County People’s Court if she hopes to receive a fair judgment. Tsering has often been targeted for her activism, especially for using social media to reveal wrongdoing and discrimination against Tibetans. On December 19, 2023, she experienced questioning and mistreatment during a 15-day detention in Drachen County after sharing online content that authorities claimed was “picking quarrels and provoking trouble.” This accusation arose from three videos she posted that captured her police interrogation at a checkpoint in Drachen County, Nagchu City. Officials considered this content sensitive.
- Pray that God will surround Tsering Tso with His protection during her house arrest and legal challenges. Ask the Lord to grant her strength, peace, and courage, and to ensure that truth and justice prevail in her case (The Holy Bible, Psalm 106:3).
- Pray that God grants her lawyer, Liang Xiaojun, wisdom, clarity, and boldness as he prepares her defense. Ask that the court officials act with fairness and integrity, allowing justice and righteousness to guide the legal process (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 30:18).
