KUWAIT: The interior ministry and public prosecution started a national awareness campaign about the new strict anti-drug laws, which will take effect on December 15. They released statements to explain the law’s details and highlighted the severe punishments included in it. The ministry pointed out that the death penalty will be enforced for drug trafficking and psychotropic substances if the offender commits the crime again, uses a minor or a mentally ill person to help with the crime, or if the crime occurs in prisons, police stations, or treatment centers for addiction. This rule also applies if the crime happens in places like churches, schools, or sports clubs, and when an official misuses their position to assist in the crime. Additionally, those who give drugs or pills to minors for personal use will face the death penalty as well.
- Pray that the implementation of the new anti-drug laws will bring justice, protect minors and vulnerable individuals, and reduce the influence of those who exploit others for criminal activities (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 1:17).
- Pray for God’s intervention in delivering individuals struggling with drug addiction and for healing, restoration, and strength for families affected by drug abuse (The Holy Bible, John 8:36).
