EGYPT: General Saqr made these comments during the opening ceremony of Egypt’s fourth Defence Expo (EDEX 2025), which President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi also attended. He mentioned that this event is a key chance to display the newest military and security technologies from around the world. He pointed out that the exhibition occurs during a time of rapid changes both regionally and globally, as well as overlapping conflicts, making it essential for nations to be ready to face risks and new threats.
Saqr highlighted that Cairo has consistently called on the international community to reject the use of force and work towards a fair and comprehensive peace. This message was evident at the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit for Peace, where Egypt gathered countries that support peace in order to advocate for an end to the war in Gaza. He emphasized that Egypt’s military strength is an investment in lasting peace, stating that strong nations gain respect for their sovereignty and ensure their borders are secure.
- Father, we pray that Egypt and the surrounding nations will walk in the path of true peace. May leaders be guided by wisdom to pursue dialogue over conflict, and may Your peace overcome every rising tension and threat in the region (The Holy Bible, Deuteronomy 31:6).
- Pray for President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Egypt’s military leaders to receive wisdom from God as they navigate rising global and regional threats. Ask that the nation’s defensive strength be used righteously—to protect its people, maintain sovereignty, and preserve peace. Pray that God grants stability, safety, and unity within Egypt’s borders (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 21:31).
