EGYPT: Egypt is hosting an important international peace summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, a resort city by the Red Sea. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump are co-chairing this event, which is seen as a key step towards ending the two-year war in Gaza and starting a new chapter of peace in the region. The Egyptian presidency states that the aim is “to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, boost efforts for peace and stability in the Middle East, and begin a new era of regional security and stability.” This summit takes place just days after the Israeli cabinet approved the first part of Trump’s 20-point plan for peace and hostage negotiations, following three days of indirect talks in Cairo.

  • Lord, we pray that the peace summit in Sharm el-Sheikh leads to meaningful negotiations, understanding, and reconciliation among all parties involved in the conflict, fostering a new era of peace in the region (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:9).
  • Lord, we pray for the safety and protection of all individuals affected by the conflict in Gaza and that the discussions at the summit lead to an immediate ceasefire and the restoration of hope and stability (The Holy Bible, Romans 14:19).
