The Syrian Foreign Minister said Israeli strikes on Syria after the fall of the previous regime shocked the country and made talks about normalizing relations very hard. Israel’s attacks blocked Syria from dealing with sectarian violence between groups like the Druze and Bedouins. The minister emphasized that Syria wants peace and is not a threat to Israel, but Israeli actions made things more difficult. Many Syrians support the U.S. lifting sanctions that were aimed at the Assad government. Recently, Syria’s new leader spoke at the United Nations, asking for all sanctions to be removed so the Syrian people can rebuild and live with dignity after years of suffering. The fall of the old regime has caused unrest, and Israel’s military strikes have added tension, but talks between Syria and Israel are still happening quietly.
Pray for peaceful and friendly relations between Syria and Israel. Pray for the authorities of both countries to find a peaceful solution to end Israel’s military strikes on Syria (The Holy Bible, Matthew 5:9).
Pray for divine favor and wise counsel for the Syrian authorities in rebuilding the nation. Pray for peace and justice to prevail in Syria (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 61:4).
