A woman named Amaye, a food seller in Niger State, northern Nigeria, was burned to death by a mob after being accused of insulting the Prophet Muhammad. Reports say a man jokingly asked to marry her, and her reply was seen as blasphemous. Angry people attacked and set her on fire before the police could stop them. Police called it “jungle justice” and said they are investigating to find those responsible. They also asked the public to stay calm and not take the law into their own hands. In northern Nigeria, blasphemy is treated as a crime under Islamic (Sharia) law in 12 states. However, human rights groups say such accusations are often used to attack people unfairly, sometimes to settle personal problems. This is not the first time. Others have been killed in similar ways. Critics say more must be done to stop these violent acts and protect justice.
Pray for the perpetrators behind this violent killing in Niger state, Nigeria, to be brought to justice soon. Pray for justice to prevail in the allegation (The Holy Bible, Exodus 23:2).
Pray for divine peace and protection upon all the innocent people in Nigeria. Pray for the Love of GOD to supernaturally fill the hearts and minds of the people to love each other (The Holy Bible, John 13:34).
