NEPAL: The Truth and Reconciliation Commission, along with the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons, invited survivors of the Maoist insurgency to submit their complaints within a three-month period. These survivors had not been able to file cases before. The truth commission has now received more than 11,000 new complaints. Many of these complaints come from victims of sexual violence and rape who previously chose not to report their cases.
- Lord, we pray for the survivors who have bravely come forward to share their stories. We pray for their healing and for justice to be served in their cases. May they find comfort and strength in Your presence (The Holy Bible, Psalm 34:18).
- Lord, we pray for Your protection over those who have been impacted by violence and those who are now seeking to ensure their voices are heard. Surround them with supportive communities and resources as they navigate this difficult journey (The Holy Bible, 1 Peter 5:7).
