Lebanon is facing a very serious water crisis due to low rainfall and extreme heat. The country’s biggest reservoir, Lake Qaraoun, has dropped to its lowest level ever. This year, it received only 45 million cubic metres of water, far below the normal 350 million. Many other reservoirs and underground water sources have also dried up. About 1.85 million people live in areas that are badly affected by drought. Over 44% of the population now depends on expensive and often unsafe water delivered by trucks. The crisis is hurting farming, healthcare, education, and local services. Damaged water systems and power shortages are making the situation worse. In crowded areas with poor sanitation, people are using unsafe water, raising the risk of disease outbreaks. Food production has dropped, and fire danger is growing due to dry conditions. The UN warns that without quick international help, Lebanon’s water crisis could become a major disaster.

Abba Father, we pray and seek Your face for mercy and healing. LORD, forgive the sins of the people of Lebanon and heal their land. Bless the people and their land to be restored, in the Mighty Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen (The Holy Bible, 2 Chronicles 7:14).

Pray for wise counsel for the authorities to tackle the drought and water scarcity in Lebanon. Pray for divine provision of clean drinking water, healthcare, food, and other basic needs for all the Lebanese families during this time of uncertainty (The Holy Bible, Psalm 118:25).
