A big forest fire broke out in Derdara commune, Chefchaouen province, northern Morocco. Firefighters have controlled three of the four main fire areas. Aircraft are still working to put out the last active fire zone. The fire damaged about 500 hectares of forest and nearby farm fields. Nearly 450 people are fighting the fire, using planes like Canadair and Turbo Thrush to help stop the flames. So far, no people have been hurt. Firefighters have made good progress, and the situation has improved. They continue working hard with many resources until the fire is fully out. Wildfires often happen in northern Morocco’s forested and mountainous areas during the dry season. Morocco has experience fighting these fires and even sent firefighting planes to help Portugal with their wildfires. The teams stay alert to protect the forests and nearby communities.

Pray for wise counsel for the authorities to combat the raging wildfires in Morocco. Pray for the safety of the firefighters involved. Pray that there should not be any fresh fires due to the prevailing dry conditions in the nation (The Holy Bible, Psalm 22:11).

Pray for divine protection upon all the people in Morocco from the raging wildfires. Pray for divine provision for all the displaced people. (The Holy Bible, Psalm 17:8).
