North Korea has rejected South Korea’s recent efforts to improve ties. Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, said her country has no interest in talks, despite South Korean President Lee Jae-myung’s attempts to ease tensions. Lee had stopped loudspeaker broadcasts along the border and repatriated six North Koreans to show goodwill. But Kim called these actions meaningless and criticized Lee’s trust in the U.S. alliance. She also mocked the idea of inviting Kim Jong Un to an international summit. North Korea sees no difference between Lee’s government and the previous conservative administration. Earlier this year, South Korea resumed loudspeaker broadcasts after North Korea sent hundreds of trash-filled balloons across the border. These broadcasts included news, K-pop music, and messages promoting democracy. North Korea, which strongly reacts to outside criticism, remains focused on its growing ties with Russia and has no plans to restart dialogue with Seoul or Washington.
Almighty GOD, we pray for peaceful and friendly relations between North Korea and South Korea, for nothing is impossible for You (The Holy Bible, Mark 10:27).
Pray for the LORD to remove the hatred from the hearts of the North Korean authorities and heal them. Pray for a supernatural shift in their hearts and minds towards the country’s peace, justice, and stability (The Holy Bible, Ezekiel 36:26).
