A boat carrying migrants sank off the coast of Yemen, killing at least 86 people. The boat had about 170 migrants, mostly from Ethiopia. Only 42 were rescued. The boat capsized in bad weather near Abyan province. Many bodies have been found along the shore. Yemen is a key route for migrants from the Horn of Africa trying to reach Gulf countries for work. The journey is very dangerous, and many migrants have died or gone missing in recent months. People smugglers often send boats into unsafe conditions to avoid patrols. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) says more legal ways to migrate are needed to protect people from smugglers. Despite risks, thousands of migrants still make the trip each year. Yemen’s ongoing civil war makes the situation worse and complicates rescue efforts.

Pray for the international lawmakers to implement strong regulations to stop the frequent boat accidents in the region. Pray for the implementation of more stringent laws in Yemen and the countries in the region to safeguard the safety of migrants from boat accidents and smugglers (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 11:14).

Pray for the LORD’s comfort for the families of all the deceased victims. Pray for divine protection upon all the innocent people from such accidents (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:1).
