JAPAN: Students from elementary and junior high schools in Okinawa Prefecture had the chance to act like journalists when they met Crown Prince Akishino and his family for 30 minutes in Tokyo. This meeting took place at the East residence in the Moto-Akasaka area of Minato Ward and is part of a series of events started by the Emperor Emeritus during his time as crown prince. The tradition has continued with the current Emperor and Empress, as well as Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko. The Imperial Household Agency reported that at the start of the meeting, Crown Prince Akishino expressed, “I hope you will use this opportunity to broaden your knowledge and experience.”

  • Lord, we pray that the students who met Crown Prince Akishino and his family are inspired by this experience, gaining knowledge and insights that ignite their curiosity and passion for learning (The Holy Bible, Psalm 100:5).
  • Lord, we pray for Crown Prince Akishino and his family as they continue this noble tradition, that they may provide encouragement and support to the younger generation, fostering a deep appreciation for culture, history, and service (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 22:6).
