Unemployment in Indonesia is a big problem, especially for young people. Approximately 16% of Indonesians aged 15–24 are unemployed, which is higher than in neighboring countries such as Thailand and Vietnam. Many graduates struggle to find good jobs. Many young people avoid low-paying or informal jobs and wait for better opportunities, which can increase unemployment. Poor wages, limited job training, and a mismatch between education and job needs make things worse. Most jobs are in the informal sector, offering little security. Rural areas and places outside Java (a major island of Indonesia) have fewer job opportunities. The government is trying to create more jobs and improve trade, but challenges remain. Many young Indonesians feel hopeless about their future, even after working hard to get an education.

Almighty GOD, we pray for the government’s impactful efforts to reduce youth unemployment in Indonesia. We pray for the provision of more opportunities to build a strong, skilled workforce in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 127:4).

Father GOD, we pray for all the young people in Indonesia to have access to educational and employment opportunities to gain valuable skills. LORD, empower them to reach their full potential and contribute to their communities (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 16:3).
