CHINA: The United States and China are set to begin a new round of discussions as hopes increase that the two largest economies in the world might reach a 90-day extension of their trade war ceasefire. The existing 90-day truce is set to conclude on August 12, during which both nations temporarily reduced tariffs on each other’s goods. Since Trump’s return to the presidency in January, both countries have increased import tariffs on each other to over 100%.
