On 19th July 2025, more than 1,500 Afghan refugee families returned to Afghanistan from neighboring countries. A total of 1,576 families went back home in just one day. Among them, 81 families came from Pakistan, while 1,495 families returned from Iran. The refugees received help at the border crossings. In recent months, the number of returning Afghan refugees has increased, as both Iran and Pakistan have asked undocumented Afghans to leave. Over the past year, more than 1.3 million Afghan refugees have returned to Afghanistan. In June alone, around 600,000 returned from Iran. Many of these people are going back to their homeland because they can no longer stay in the host countries. The Afghan government and aid organizations are working to support the returnees during this difficult time.
Pray for the Afghan returnees to get full and unhindered access to all their basic needs and rights in their homeland. Pray for the authorities to take action for a proper resettlement process for all the returnees (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 23:18).
Pray that the LORD will bless all the Afghan returnees with hope and a future. Pray for divine protection and provision for all the Afghan families during this time of uncertainty (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 31:17).
