Djibouti: Djibouti, located in the Horn of Africa, is leading initiatives that may develop into a continent-wide carbon tax system. This small but strategically important country has discreetly implemented a carbon pricing scheme that other African nations are now looking to adopt. Gabon and Guinea have already followed suit, and reports indicate that around twelve additional countries are interested, as per the African Sovereign Carbon Registry (ASC), which is overseeing the initiative.
