Pakistan: The police in Pakistan have detained 149 individuals during a raid on a fraudulent call center, according to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency. The agency informed the BBC that the operation was initiated following a tip-off regarding the network, which was based in Faisalabad. They revealed that the center was engaged in Ponzi schemes and deceived people into giving large amounts of money under the guise of fake investments. Those charged managed WhatsApp groups where they attracted unsuspecting individuals by assigning minor investment tasks, such as subscribing to various TikTok and YouTube channels.
- Lord, we pray that those involved in fraudulent activities are held accountable for their actions and that justice is served for the victims who were deceived and lost their hard-earned money (The Holy Bible, Amos 5:24).
- Lord, we pray for the protection of individuals from falling victim to such scams in the future and for wisdom and discernment for authorities to effectively tackle and dismantle such fraudulent schemes (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 16:16).
