On Wednesday, a drone attack hit the Ain Sifni oilfield in Dohuk, Iraqi Kurdistan, which is run by U.S. company Hunt Oil. This was the second attack on the same site in one day and is part of a growing series of strikes on oilfields in the Kurdistan region. Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP), which operates nearby Shaikan oilfield, has shut down production temporarily to protect its staff, though its facilities were not damaged. The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) confirmed drone attacks also hit the Tawke and Peshkabour oilfields. Norwegian company DNO, which operates those fields, also paused operations after explosions—thankfully, no one was injured.
Abba Father, protect all those working and living near these sites. Keep them safe from violence and fear, and be their refuge in this time of danger (The Bible, Psalm 18:2).
Lord, silence the drones of war and replace conflict with calm. Bring understanding and healing to lands divided by violence and fear (The Bible, John 14:27).
