Houthi rebels in Yemen tried to strike Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport with a missile on July 11, 2025, which Israel said it stopped. This came after the Houthis sank two ships in the Red Sea: the Magic Seas and the Eternity C. At least four sailors died, and the Houthis now hold six from the Eternity C. The group claims to be helping the crew, but the U.S. accused them of kidnapping. The Houthis say they are attacking ships linked to Israel in protest of the war in Gaza. Since November 2023, they’ve assaulted over 100 ships. Shipping risks and insurance costs have risen. Israel responded by bombing Houthi targets in Yemen, including ports. The Houthis warned they will keep targeting Israeli-linked ships until the war in Gaza ends and the blockade is lifted. They had also previously held a ship and crew for over a year before releasing them in January.
Pray for wise counsel for the Israeli authorities to intercept the missile attacks from Houthi rebels in Yemen, and from other countries. Pray for divine protection upon Israeli civilians from missile attacks. Pray for the end of war and hatred in the Middle East. Pray for peace and justice to prevail in the region (The Holy Bible, Psalm 57:1).
Pray for the international authorities to take immediate action to end the ‘Red Sea Conflict’. Pray for the immediate release of all the imprisoned sailors by Houthi rebels (The Holy Bible, Psalm 17:13).
