Türkiye is facing intense wildfires at the moment, especially in the western province of Izmir. The fires started on June 29, 2025, and have been fueled by gusty winds of up to 120 km/h and scorching temperatures of over 45°C. More than 50,000 citizens of 41 communities have been rescued to safety. With most of the fires in places such as Sakarya and Manisa brought under control, Izmir is still in a critical situation. The fires have halted travel, such as the temporary shutdown of airports like Izmir’s, and disrupted the agricultural and tourism industries. Authorities are doing their utmost to bring the fires under control, but there remains a threat of fresh fires as there are still heatwave conditions. The government has deployed firefighting equipment, such as helicopters and ground crews, to fight the fires and maintain public safety.
Pray for wise counsel for the authorities to combat the raging wildfires in Türkiye. Pray for the safety of the firefighters involved. Pray that there should not be any fresh fires due to prevailing heatwave conditions in the nation (The Holy Bible, Psalm 22:11).
Pray for divine protection upon all the people in Türkiye from the raging wildfires. Pray for divine provision for all the displaced people. (The Holy Bible, Psalm 17:8).
