Egypt: Egypt has initiated a new national program aimed at establishing itself as a leader in clean technology innovation within the region, with backing from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and financial support from the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Ali Abu Sena, the head of Egypt’s Environmental Affairs Agency, led the first steering committee meeting for the project, which seeks to enhance climate action and facilitate the country’s transition to sustainable energy.
This initiative is a strategic move to strengthen Egypt’s position in climate innovation and sustainable industrial development, focusing on empowering clean technology entrepreneurship, promoting climate-friendly innovations, and creating green jobs through collaboration with startups, government agencies, private investors, and key sectors.
