The conflict between Iran and Israel is hurting Yemen’s weak economy. The Yemeni rial has dropped even more in value, and fuel prices have gone up again. This is the fourth increase this year. Because Yemen imports most of its goods, prices are rising fast. The government is trying to help with a 100-day emergency plan, but it has few resources. People are exchanging their money for dollars or gold, fearing war. This reduces the country’s foreign currency reserves. Remittances from abroad, Yemen’s main income source, may also fall due to global tensions. Experts worry that if the conflict spreads to the Red Sea or the Gulf of Aden, shipping costs could triple. This would block imports and hurt oil exports, Yemen’s last way to earn foreign currency. Without outside help or stability, the country may face more inflation and economic pain.
Pray for economic stability in Yemen. Pray for the effective implementation of economic reforms to combat inflation and enhance the country’s economy (The Holy Bible, Psalm 118:25).
Pray for divine provision for all the Yemeni families facing economic crisis. Pray for the LORD to bless Yemen and its income resources (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:1).
