Fuel and gas prices in Afghanistan have surged sharply following the recent conflict between Israel and Iran. In provinces like Kabul, Herat, and Nimruz, residents report serious hardships as prices for petrol, diesel, and gas have risen steeply; gas alone jumped from 48–50 to 65–67 Afghanis per kilogram. Traders say diesel prices increased by $280 per ton and gasoline by $120 per ton. Many accuse vendors of using the crisis as an excuse to charge more, despite buying fuel earlier at lower prices. Imports from Iran, which supplies much of Afghanistan’s fuel, have stopped, and the Taliban have released emergency reserves. The rise in the U.S. dollar has also made food and other goods more costly. Economic experts warn that continued tensions could further harm Afghanistan’s fragile economy, especially in transport and daily life. Although the Taliban say foreign trade remains stable, many residents fear worsening conditions and possible border closures.

Pray for the LORD’s intervention in Afghanistan to strengthen the fragile economy of the nation. Pray for access to natural resources, food, and other basic needs and rights for all the Afghan people (The Holy Bible, Psalm 16:7).

Pray for economic stability in Afghanistan. Pray for divine peace and justice to prevail in the region. Pray for the international authorities to take action to end the war between Israel and Iran (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:9).
