Iraq has recorded 19 deaths and 123 total cases of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever so far this year, with the highest number reported in Dhi Qar province. The disease, transmitted through tick bites or contact with infected animal blood during slaughter, mainly affects those working in the livestock sector. The fatality rate ranges from 10% to 40%, according to the World Health Organization. Authorities have urged farmers and slaughterhouse workers to take extra precautions. A previous outbreak in 2022 resulted in 27 deaths, largely due to a surge in ticks following missed pesticide spraying campaigns during the pandemic years.

Abba Father, we call on Your healing power for the people of Iraq, especially those suffering from the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever. Stretch forth Your hand, Lord, and bring restoration to every man, woman, and child afflicted by this deadly disease. Let Your mercy flow, and grant them immediate access to healthcare, protection, and relief (The Bible, Jeremiah 33:6).

Lord, we ask for Your divine provision of medical resources, clean environments for the people of Iraq. We declare Your care over every vulnerable life—especially in remote and poor regions. May no one suffer from a lack of help or hope, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen (The Bible, John 14:14).
