Niger’s army raided illegal mining sites in the west of the country, killing 13 jihadist fighters and arresting one. These sites were under the control of terrorist groups and were being used to fund attacks. The army also found materials for making bombs. The raids happened near the border with Burkina Faso. Niger, like Mali and Burkina Faso, is fighting groups linked to Al Qaeda and ISIS. These groups have killed many people and taken control of areas. Niger’s military government has removed French troops and is now working with Russia. Experts say the raids may stop the illegal mining for a short time, but more action is needed to stop funding for terrorists. The conflict has worsened Niger’s economy. About 4.5 million people needed aid in 2024. In May, eight mine workers were killed by a bomb.

Pray for the government of Niger to take immediate action to eradicate illegal mining and to safeguard the safety of the legal mine workers. Pray for economic stability in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 64:2).

Pray against all the terrorist groups working in Niger. Pray for the LORD to cut the cords of funding for the jihadist fighters in the nation. Pray for the LORD to thwart all their plans against the peace in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 129:4).
