Türkiye has stepped up its fight against drug trafficking with two major operations. In April 2025, Türkish authorities detained 525 suspected drug dealers of drugs in Ankara in the largest anti-narcotics operation in the history of the country. The operation, titled “Narkokapan-Ankara,” focused on street-level dealers utilizing online-based platforms for selling narcotics. It was carried out by more than 4,700 police officers, drones, and sniffing dogs, and raids were carried out at 626 locations in the capital. The crackdown comes after half a year of monitoring and is one of the components of Türkiye’s overall policy to fight drug-related offenses. Also, Türkiye joined a pan-European operation, “Operation Bulut,” led by Europol, which resulted in the detention of more than 230 suspects in multiple countries, including Germany, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Four large drug trafficking networks were broken up during the operation, and assets valued at around $400 million were confiscated. These concerted actions reflect Türkiye’s determination to tackle the increasing problem of drug trafficking and its effect on public health and security.
Pray for the success of all the efforts of the government against drug trafficking in Türkiye. Pray for the wise counsel for the authorities to eradicate drug trafficking across the nation and the Middle East region (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 20:18).
Pray for the complete dismantling of all the drug trafficking networks in Türkiye. Pray for justice to prevail in the nation (The Holy Bible, Job 5:12).
