Israel carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in Beirut’s southern suburbs, saying it hit a site producing thousands of drones with Iranian support. The attack, which caused panic and evacuations, happened on the eve of Eid Al-Adha despite a six-month ceasefire. Lebanese leaders condemned the strikes as a violation of international law and a threat to peace. The UN warned of rising tensions. Israel defended the action, saying Hezbollah’s drone use breaks the ceasefire deal. Fighting between Israel and Hezbollah intensified after Hamas attacked Israel in October 2023, leading to a 13-month conflict. Though a ceasefire began in late November, Israel has since continued targeting Hezbollah-linked sites in Lebanon. Lebanon says these attacks and Israeli soldiers still stationed in the south violate the truce. The Lebanese army may suspend cooperation with the ceasefire monitoring group in response to the latest strike.

Pray for the destabilization of Hezbollah and other terrorist groups in Lebanon and the Middle East region. Pray for peace and justice to prevail in the region (The Holy Bible, Psalm 34:21).

Pray for the authorities of Lebanon and Israel to take immediate action to strengthen the ceasefire agreement. Pray for divine protection upon all the innocent civilians in the country (The Holy Bible, Micah 2:13).
