BANGLADESH: Bangladesh is experiencing a severe outbreak of measles-like illness, with 251 reported deaths since mid-March, including 42 confirmed measles fatalities. Over 30,000 suspected cases and more than 4,400 confirmed infections have been recorded, though a shortage of testing kits is limiting accurate diagnosis. The disease has spread across 91% of districts, indicating nationwide transmission. In response, the government has launched a large-scale vaccination campaign, immunizing over 1 million children, while working to address resource shortages. The outbreak is especially dangerous for unvaccinated and malnourished children, reversing progress previously made toward measles elimination.

Lord Almighty, we ask for Your divine protection over every community affected by this outbreak. Shield children and families from harm, and let Your presence be a refuge in this difficult time. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 91:2).

Gracious God, bring strength to those who are weak and comfort to those who are grieving. Fill hearts with hope and courage, and let Your peace calm every fear. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:1).
