IRAN: Iran is facing a severe employment crisis, with around two million people reportedly losing their jobs due to the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel. The layoffs extend beyond war-damaged industries to sectors like retail, tourism, manufacturing, and digital services. Reduced consumer spending and a prolonged internet blackout—imposed for security reasons—have further worsened the situation, significantly impacting businesses and costing the economy billions of dollars. The tech sector and women workers, many of whom relied on online platforms for income, have been especially affected. Even media organizations have downsized, reflecting the widespread economic strain across the country.
Heavenly Father, we lift up all those who have lost their livelihoods. Provide for their needs and open new doors of opportunity and hope. Lord, we pray for peace in regions affected by conflict.
