Child, early, and forced marriage (CEFM) remains a serious issue in rural and Indigenous communities of Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri. Research involving adolescents, families, community leaders, and officials highlights key causes such as poverty, deeply rooted gender norms, limited access to education, lack of awareness about sexual and reproductive health rights, and weak enforcement of marriage laws. The report emphasizes the need for targeted, evidence-based solutions to prevent early marriage and empower girls with greater opportunities and choices for their futures.
Heavenly Father, protect young girls and boys from harm and guide them toward safe and hopeful futures. Lord, bring justice to communities affected by early and forced marriages. Strengthen laws and ensure they are upheld. Amen (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 1:17).
Father, open doors for education and opportunity for every child, especially girls, so they may fulfill their potential. Lord, transform cultural norms and mindsets that harm children. Fill communities with love, wisdom, and respect for every life. Amen (The Holy Bible, Romans 12:2).
