WESTERN SAHARA: Members of the political and administrative group in Shaheed El Hafed, along with the people and leaders of the Wilaya of Boujdour, held large public marches. The protests started at the main square in Boujdour and moved to the wilaya headquarters to show their strong and clear rejection of any attempt—no matter where it comes from—to ignore the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, as stated by UN Security Council resolutions and international law. Participants shouted slogans against the U.S. draft resolution that aims to take the Sahrawi issue away from its global context and weaken the Sahrawi people’s rightful claim to freedom and independence, demanding complete self-determination for them. People from all parts of Sahrawi society reaffirmed their strong commitment to their right to self-determination and independence, showing their determination to continue fighting for it—regardless of how long it may take.
- Lord, we pray that God will establish justice and truth for the Sahrawi people. Ask that every effort to silence or undermine their legitimate right to self-determination be exposed and overturned, and that peace built on righteousness will prevail (The Holy Bible, Amos 5:24).
- Lord, we pray for unity, strength, and perseverance among the Sahrawi people and their leaders. Ask God to fill them with hope, patience, and courage as they continue seeking freedom and peace, trusting that He will bring a just resolution in His perfect time (The Holy Bible, Galatians 6:9).
