LIBYA: The Prime Minister of Libya, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, who is based in Tripoli, met with Dagvin Anderson, the commander of the US Africa Command (AFRICOM), to talk about boosting military cooperation between Libya and the US. They discussed ways to improve their military partnership, focusing on training, equipment, and programs to build capacity, according to a statement from the Libyan government. Anderson emphasized AFRICOM’s dedication to providing support and pointed out the need for ongoing teamwork to enhance regional security, as mentioned in the statement. Libya is currently divided between two governments: one led by Osama Hammad in Benghazi that was appointed by the House of Representatives in early 2022 and controls the east and much of the south, and the other is the internationally recognized Government of National Unity led by Dbeibeh in Tripoli, which oversees the west.
- Pray that God will guide both Libyan administrations toward peaceful dialogue, unity, and a shared commitment to national stability. Ask that every political and military engagement—domestic or international—result in lasting peace and protection for civilians (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 14:34).
- Pray that any military cooperation between Libya and international partners will be guided by wisdom, integrity, and a sincere desire to promote security, justice, and the well-being of the Libyan people. Ask God to give leaders discernment and protection from harmful influences (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 11:14).
