Niger, a 10/40 Window region country in West Africa. Christianity was introduced in Niger by Catholic and Protestant missionaries in the early 20th century, particularly from the Roman Catholic Church and mission societies like the Sudan Interior Mission, which brought education and healthcare alongside the Gospel. Despite their efforts, Christianity remains a small minority in a predominantly Muslim nation.

Today, Niger’s Christian teenagers face daunting struggles: limited access to education, heavy societal pressure to conform to Islam, discrimination in schools and jobs, and a bleak economy offering little hope. The Church in Niger is under threat due to political instability after repeated coups, suppression of opposition parties and media freedom, the rise of violent Islamic extremism across the Sahel, extreme poverty, and the state’s failure to build critical infrastructure that could improve life.

Transformation in Niger needs Christian Believers to return to biblical faithfulness by rejecting fear, holding firm to Christ despite persecution. There needs to be discipleship programs for the youth to encourage and educate them. They must embody justice, integrity, and love, ensuring future generations remain rooted in the Word despite oppression.
