CHINA: The rise of robots in a quickly aging society is helping to address some problems related to a smaller workforce and is enhancing its manufacturing capabilities, which will improve even more as humanoid technology develops, analysts say. Since 2022, China’s population has declined by 1.39 million people last year. However, the country now leads the world with a record 2.027 million active industrial robots, according to the 2025 edition of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) World Robotics Report. China’s factories welcomed over half of the world’s 542,000 new robots in 2024, according to a September report. These machines are used for welding car frames, assembling electronic devices, and moving heavy items accurately, helping to fill job gaps created by the changing population.

  • Lord, we pray for those affected by the transition to automation in the workforce. May you provide guidance and support for workers who are adjusting to these changes. Help them find new opportunities and skills that will allow them to thrive in a modern economy (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 29:11).
  • Lord, we pray for wisdom and ethical guidance for those developing and implementing new technologies. May these advancements serve to uplift society, enhance manufacturing capabilities, and address the challenges of an aging population effectively and responsibly (The Holy Bible, Colossians 3:17).
