It’s essential to understand the local culture before teaching the Word of God. Every culture has a set of “do’s” and “don’ts” along with specific sensitivities. By understanding these things, one can help make the Bible more understandable in frontier mission settings such as Nepal.
That is why Scripture Union Nepal hosted one-day Bible camps in important districts. They used a specially designed book to explain biblical principles with the Nepalese culture in mind. That thrust is for those who can’t take special training. For those who can attend a discipleship class, they are trying to go deeper. They are in the process of developing a curriculum for this class.
Let us pray fervently for:
The team’s efforts to produce heart and life transformation, a deep love for Jesus, and obedience to the Word (The Bible, Romans 15:18).
Pray for new Nepali Christian Believers to delve deeply into the Word and cultivate a close relationship with their Heavenly Father through intercession (The Bible, Psalm 119:9).
Pray for new Christians to utilize the curriculum to gain a deeper understanding of the Kingdom of God (The Bible, Mark 10:14).
