This includes instances of electric shocks, strangulations, gang rape, and the burning of sexual body parts. A summary of the findings states, “The report outlines the documented torture occurring in Myanmar’s detention facilities, which encompasses beatings, electric shocks, strangulations, gang rape, burning of sexual body parts, and other forms of sexual violence.” The investigator expressed hope for a future when those responsible will be held accountable in a court of law.
