LIBYA: Ulrika Richardson, the UN’s Deputy Special Representative and Resident Coordinator, emphasized the need to protect the independence and neutrality of Libya’s Audit Bureau. She stated that both factors are crucial for improving oversight and ensuring transparency in its reports. The meeting also covered the cooperation agreement between the Audit Bureau and the UN Development Programme (UNDP). Both parties viewed this agreement as a significant step toward better collaboration, whether through technical support, building institutional capacities, or monitoring development projects in Libya. They also highlighted the importance of aligning UNDP projects with national priorities and creating effective ways to guarantee successful implementation of development programs that achieve the best results for institutions and public services.
