Türkiye had become an important place for terrorism during the Syrian war. Many European jihadists, like Casiano, used Türkiye to travel to Syria to join terrorist groups such as Jabhat al-Nusra. Türkiye’s long and open border with Syria made it easy for fighters to cross. Casiano stayed in Türkiye, used fake names, and created online accounts to spread terrorist ideas and recruit others from Spain. Fighters often used Türkish towns near Syria, and Türkish intelligence was linked to some of this movement. Although Casiano was arrested in Türkiye, he was later released and escaped, showing weak action by Türkish courts. Spanish judges also noted that Türkiye did not fully help with legal cooperation. Türkiye’s environment, government policies, and loose controls allowed terrorism to grow. Casiano’s case is an example of how Türkiye became both a path into war zones and a safe place for terrorists to plan and act.
Pray for the lawmakers to implement stringent laws to curb the terrorists’ activities in and through Türkiye. Pray for an improved security system in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 127:1).
Pray against all unholy relations between the Türkish intelligence and any terrorist groups in the region. Pray that the evil-doers behind these alliances are quickly brought to justice. (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 21:15).
