South Korea fired warning shots at North Korean soldiers who briefly crossed the border between the two countries. The incident happened near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), a strip of land separating North and South Korea. North Korean troops crossed the military line but later returned to their side. South Korea fired more than 10 warning shots to warn them off. North Korean state media called this a serious provocation and warned it could lead to uncontrollable tensions. The incident happened as South Korea’s new president, Lee Jae Myung, was visiting Tokyo and Washington. Pyongyang has been ignoring efforts by Lee’s government to improve relations. The two Koreas have been divided since the Korean War ended in 1953, but they never signed a peace treaty, so they are technically still at war. Despite this, there have been no recent direct attacks between the two sides.

Pray for peace between the nations in the Korean Peninsula. Pray for the friendly relations between North and South Korea (The Holy Bible, Matthew 5:9).

Pray for oneness among the authorities of North and South Korea to find solutions that promote peace and reconciliation. Pray for the LORD’s healing power to heal the wounds of the Korean War from the hearts and minds of the people. Pray that the Love of GOD will fill their hearts and minds supernaturally (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 16:7).
