PAKISTAN: Officials at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi allowed Uzma Khanum, the sister of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, to visit him. This meeting ended weeks of limited access that had led to protests. The visit took place on a day when the PTI party had already organized demonstrations outside both the Islamabad High Court and Adiala Jail, protesting what they called unfair limits on Imran Khan’s visitation rights. For several weeks, his family and party members were not allowed to meet him, even though an earlier order from the Islamabad High Court had approved visits twice a week. Concerns about Imran’s health increased after unverified reports from Afghan media suggested he had died while in custody. His son, Kasim Khan, asked for proof that his father was safe, stating on X that Imran has now been in prison for 845 days and spent the last six weeks in a death cell without any contact with family. Since August 2023, Imran Khan has been imprisoned in connection with multiple cases, and authorities have maintained strict access restrictions for over a month.

  • Pray that God will protect Imran Khan in custody, preserve his life, and expose any hidden injustices. Ask that truth prevail over fear, rumors, or misinformation and that God’s peace surround his family in this time of uncertainty (The Holy Bible, Psalm 18:2).
  • Pray that the authorities will act with fairness, integrity, and humanity, granting Imran Khan the visitation rights and lawful treatment ordered by the courts. Pray that justice will flow in the land and that those in power will act without oppression or bias (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 31:8).
