LIBYA: The Libyan Crimes Watch Organization (LCW) has warned that journalists and media workers in Libya are experiencing severe violations and increasing limitations on press freedom and their work. In a statement released for the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, which is observed on November 2, the organization reported that it recorded at least eleven arrests of journalists between 2024 and 2025. Armed groups and security agencies linked to the authorities in both eastern and western Libya reportedly made these arrests. LCW also pointed out that journalists are still being tried in military courts, showing that the situation for media freedom in the country is getting worse.
- Pray that God will protect journalists and media workers in Libya from unjust arrests, intimidation, and violence. Ask that the Lord give them courage to continue speaking truth and exposing injustice despite the dangers they face. May His hand shield them from harm and His truth prevail in the nation (The Holy Bible, Psalm 18:2).
- Seek God’s intervention to ensure justice for those who have faced unjust detention and silence. Ask that leaders and authorities in Libya would uphold press freedom, ensuring truth and accountability in the nation. May God raise voices of righteousness to speak with wisdom and integrity (The Holy Bible, Psalm 37:28).
