KUWAIT: The small drop in consumer spending might not indicate that the economy is weak; instead, it could show that financial habits in Kuwait are evolving. The country is moving towards a more careful and informed economy, where spending matches up better with sustainability and long-term stability. After four years of steady growth in consumption, Kuwait’s domestic spending has started to slow down. Data from the Central Bank of Kuwait reveals that spending by citizens and residents fell by 4.66% in the first nine months of this year, totaling 34.35 billion dinars, compared to 36.03 billion dinars during the same time last year, a decrease of 1.68 billion dinars.
- Pray that the people and leaders of Kuwait will exercise wisdom and discernment in managing financial resources. May this shift toward sustainable spending strengthen the nation’s economy and promote long-term stability that benefits all citizens (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 21:5).
- Ask God to guide Kuwait’s evolving economy so that growth is built on justice, fairness, and care for future generations. Pray that this change will open doors for ethical business practices and stewardship that honor God (The Holy Bible, Psalm 24:1).
