KUWAIT: Kuwait urged the global community to honor its commitments to the rights of people with disabilities. They emphasized the importance of including children with disabilities in all programs, even when resources are tight. These comments were made by Kuwait’s Permanent Representative during a speech at the annual UN World Conjoined Twins Day. In 2024, the UN General Assembly designated November 24 as World Day of Conjoined Twins to raise awareness and support for the rights and inclusion of conjoined twins in society. The resolution highlights the international community’s promise to provide healthcare and support for children with complex medical needs, aligning with global development goals and priorities for including people with disabilities.
- Lord, we lift up nations and global leaders, asking that You strengthen their resolve to honor their commitments to children with disabilities, including conjoined twins. May policies, resources, and actions reflect justice, compassion, and equal dignity for every child regardless of their physical condition (The Holy Bible, Psalm 82:3).
- Father, we pray for Your divine provision for children with complex medical needs and their families. As the world recognizes the challenges of conjoined twins and others with disabilities, may healthcare systems, communities, and leaders rise with wisdom and compassion to provide care, inclusion, and hope—especially where resources are limited (The Holy Bible, Philippians 4:19).
