INDONESIA: On Friday, Indonesia’s Manpower Minister Yassierli announced that the government is increasing its efforts to improve the country’s occupational safety and health (OSH) system. This initiative includes a series of strategic reforms designed to create workplaces that are safer, healthier, and more productive. OSH is not just a requirement but an essential part of the national plan for building a safe and healthy work environment. The focus of this initiative is on building skills, updating regulations, and encouraging teamwork across different sectors as part of the country’s goal for sustainable development that puts worker safety and health first. The reform of the national OSH training, testing, and licensing system through digital upgrades is one of the main actions underway. Additionally, the ministry is revising regulations and improving the professionalism of labor inspectors and OSH assessors.
- Lord, we praythat the leaders and officials involved in the OSH reforms will be granted wisdom and insight as they implement changes to the national training and licensing system. May they be guided by a desire to protect and promote the well-being of every worker (The Holy Bible, Psalm 3).
- Lord, we pray for a transformation in workplaces across Indonesia, that safe and healthy environments will become a reality for all workers. May the efforts of the ministry lead to collaboration and commitment to safety, resulting in higher productivity and well-being for employees (The Holy Bible, Nahum 1).
