MALDIVES: The troops from the Southern Command of the Indian Army, based in Pune, started the Joint Military Exercise Ekuverin with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on Tuesday. This exercise focuses on Counter-Insurgency and Counter-Terrorism (CI-CT) operations in jungle, semi-urban, and coastal areas. It involves the armed forces of both nations, which are located in the strategically important Indian Ocean Region. The exercise will run from December 2 to 15. A team of 45 soldiers from the Indian Army’s Southern Command is taking part alongside an equal number of personnel from the MNDF.

  • Pray for God’s protection over the Indian Army and the Maldives National Defence Force as they conduct the Ekuverin exercise. Ask God to ensure safety throughout their training and to use this collaboration to strengthen peace and security in the Indian Ocean region (The Holy Bible, Psalm 121:7).
  • Pray that the joint training will build unity, trust, and effective cooperation between the two nations. Ask God to grant the leaders and soldiers wisdom and clarity as they train for counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 8:11).
