Libya: The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has predicted that desert locust swarms will continue to spread throughout Libya and North Africa in June and July. It noted that these smaller swarms are likely to start flying soon and could combine into larger groups in northern Libya, Tunisia, and northern Algeria. The FAO has urged increased monitoring and control measures in Libya and North Africa to prevent the swarms from posing a significant risk to food security in the area.

  • Lord, we pray that God will protect the vulnerable regions of Libya from the devastation caused by desert locust swarms. May the Lord provide wisdom and guidance to local authorities for effective monitoring and control measures (The Holy Bible, Psalm 91:10).
  • Lord, we pray that you safeguard the food supply in Libya, ensuring that communities have access to the resources they need for sustenance and health. May He provide for those impacted and help strengthen agricultural practices in the region (The Holy Bible, Philippians 4:19).
