EGYPT: On Monday, Egyptians cast their votes in the second phase of parliamentary elections. This voting takes place in 13 governorates and is under strict security measures after the first round faced problems. Voting will continue until Tuesday across 73 constituencies, where 1,316 candidates are competing for 141 individual seats. To prepare for this election, officials improved lighting, ventilation, and backup power. They also made arrangements to help voters, including shaded waiting areas and wheelchairs for elderly individuals and those with disabilities. The results are expected to be announced on December 2. Run-off voting will occur abroad on December 15 and 16, while it will take place inside Egypt on December 17 and 18. The final results will be released on December 25.
- Pray that God will grant peace, stability, and protection over all polling stations across the 13 governorates. Ask that any plans for disruption or violence be stopped and that the entire voting process be carried out with integrity and calm (The Holy Bible, Colossians 1:16).
- Pray that God will guide voters and officials so that those elected—both in the initial voting and the run-offs—will be people of wisdom, justice, and a genuine heart for the nation. Ask that God’s will be done in selecting leaders who will uphold righteousness and serve the people faithfully (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 29:2).
