In the first half of the year, Cambodia’s General Department of Immigration intercepted 59 suspected human trafficking cases involving 118 victims—mostly Cambodian women lured into illegal marriages with foreign men. With help from Chinese authorities, many were rescued. Lt. Gen. Sok Veasna said officers used behavioral profiling to detect victims, who were often manipulated through false promises. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet and Interior Minister Sar Sokha, efforts have disrupted trafficking networks and aided victim repatriation. Authorities also uncovered 78 cases of Cambodian women trafficked to China, involving 188 victims. The public is urged to help raise awareness and prevent further exploitation.
Abba Father, we pray for every woman and child who has been deceived and exploited through human trafficking. Heal their wounds, restore their dignity, and lead them to safety and justice. Strengthen their hearts with hope and surround them with care and support (The Bible, Psalm 34:18).
Lord, grant wisdom and vigilance to immigration and law enforcement officers. May their work continue to uncover evil schemes and protect the vulnerable. Raise up communities and leaders committed to ending human trafficking in all its forms (The Bible, Psalm 82:4).
