Cambodia has emerged as a major hub in a growing global human trafficking crisis, where victims are lured into scam centers across Southeast Asia through deception and coercion. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime has launched the #TrappedInScamCrime campaign in Phnom Penh to raise awareness, prevent trafficking, and protect victims from being treated as criminals. These operations, often linked to transnational crime networks, force victims—many from regions like Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe—into online scams under threats and abuse. Partnering with groups like International Justice Mission and supported by international efforts, the campaign emphasizes a survivor-centered approach. Officials highlight the urgent need for global cooperation as thousands of victims require rescue, care, and protection.

Abba, we pray for those trapped in exploitation. Rescue them from harm and restore their freedom and dignity. Lord, bring justice against those who exploit others. Dismantle systems of evil and protect the vulnerable. Amen (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 1:17).

Lord, open the eyes of people to the dangers of deception and protect others from falling into these traps. Amen (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 22:3).
