MALI: Barrick Mining Corporation (NYSE:B)(TSX:ABX) (“Barrick” or the “Company”) announced today that it has reached an agreement that resolves all its disputes with the Government of the Republic of Mali concerning the Loulo and Gounkoto mines. All charges against Barrick, its affiliates, and employees will be dropped, and legal actions will begin to secure the release of four Barrick employees who are currently detained. Furthermore, the temporary management of the Loulo-Gounkoto complex will end, and control over the complex will return to Barrick. This agreement sets a positive direction for the future. Because of this settlement, Barrick’s subsidiaries will also withdraw their arbitration claims that are still pending at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
- Pray that the peaceful resolution between Barrick and the Government of Mali will bring lasting stability, justice, and mutual trust. Pray that God will guide both parties to uphold integrity and fairness as operations resume (The Holy Bible, Romans 5:10).
- Pray for the swift and safe release of the four detained Barrick employees. Ask God to protect them, give them strength, and surround their families with peace during this time (The Holy Bible, Psalm 146:7).
